To All Lumby Readers and Booksellers: Hank Spreads His Wings
June 14, 2006
With wholehearted enthusiasm, we would like to announce that Penguin Group (USA) under its imprint NAL (New American Library) has acquired all rights to The Lumby Lines, Stealing Lumby and the third novel of Gail Fraser’s series, The Bounty of Lumby. Penguin NAL will begin publishing the Lumby series with the re-release of The Lumby Lines in 2007, followed shortly thereafter by each subsequent novel. For that reason, Stealing Lumby will not be released by Yorkville as originally planned. Check the author’s website: www.lumbybooks.com for updated information regarding new pub dates.
We at Yorkville are delighted that we launched this wonderful and heartwarming series and helped to propel LUMBY to the next level with the acquisition by NAL/Penguin. Best of luck Gail Fraser and all things LUMBY!!!!!
THE QUIRKY TOWN OF LUMBY HAS CAPTURED THE HEARTS AND IMAGINATIONS
OF BOOKSELLERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WHO PRAISE THIS DELIGHTFUL FIRST
NOVEL IN A NEW SERIES
Gail Fraser brings a wonderful small town to life in this delightfully
touching novel. An engaging cast of characters populates this one-moose
town in the Northwest where pigs literally fly, goats invade the
bank vault, a dog runs for mayor, and newcomers Pam and Mark Walker
set out to transform Lumby's abandoned monastery into a country
inn. The former monks of the abbey and Lumby's locals help (and
sometimes hinder) their efforts, and all progress, or lack therof,
is regularly reported in THE LUMBY LINES, the newspaper with
the motto: "It's worth the paper it's printed on." Readers
who wish there were more fictional destinations like Jan Karon's
Mitford or Garrison Keillor's Lake Wobegon will be delighted to
discover the residents of Lumby.
